Health and safety

Ensuring the health and safety of its employees across the Group is one of Datatec’s priorities. In addition to occupational compliance practices, employee wellness and ensuring that employees lead a healthy and balanced lifestyle are a focus. A healthy work organisation results in productive and focused employees equipped with the tools to contribute to the Group’s success.

The Group operates in over 50 countries and subsidiaries keep abreast and comply with relevant health and safety legislation in the jurisdictions they operate in. Health and safety reports are reviewed annually by the Datatec Social and Ethics Committee and at least quarterly at the subsidiary audit committees and risk forums. The health, safety and wellbeing of our employees continues to remain a priority.

Logicalis

Commitment to Health and Safety

Logicalis recognises its obligation to reduce the risk of injury in the work environment and to provide a clean and safe place to work. Logicalis undertakes to comply with health and safety regulations as set out in the jurisdictions in which Logicalis operates around the world.

Policies

Each Logicalis operation has its own health and safety policy which is consistent with best practice in the applicable jurisdiction, and regularly undertakes programmes and procedures to mitigate health and safety risks, such as risk assessments and safety audits.

Training

Logicalis also ensures that the appropriate health and safety training is provided for its employees for the role that they perform, which includes, where appropriate, the training of first aiders and fire marshals.

All employees within Logicalis annually complete an online Code of Conduct training course which covers the responsibilities of Logicalis as an employer and all Logicalis' employees with regard to health and safety in the workplace.

Westcon International

Commitment to health and safety

Westcon International has provided professional health and safety resources to meet the increasing demands of legislative compliance and stakeholder requirements. A dedicated EMEA Health and Safety Manager works alongside the European Facilities Manager to maintain a safe workplace for all employees and contractors.

Policies

A “Returning to the Office Policy” was published and communicated outlining the health and safety protocols that remain in place in all office locations as we emerged from Covid-19 lockdowns. As we enter the new world of “hybrid” working, this presents its own challenges to strike a balance between flexible working and ensuring that there are sufficient numbers of trained personnel in key roles such as first aiders and fire marshals on-site. A priority for FY23 is to establish a health and safety community throughout the EMEA region to address local level legislation and increase agility to address risks and issues in a more proactive manner.

Work is also underway to transition to a digital accident/incident reporting system to make it easier for employees to report accidents and near misses which is expected to provide better visibility to conduct the necessary root cause analysis and corrective action procedures.

Training

Westcon International is raising the profile of health and safety across the division, through the use of promotional information and training. Safety representatives, first aiders, fire marshals and incident controllers have been trained in each of the UK sites and a health, safety and quality module is also included in the EMEA New Starter Induction event.

Health and safety training continues to be an area of focus and a key objective for FY23 will be to provide more targeted training to specific roles within the division and move away from a “one size fits all” approach. The health and safety employee induction presentation has also been enhanced to cover more general ESG topics with a view to raising the profile of sustainability within the business.

Analysys Mason

Commitment to health and safety

Analysys Mason recognises and understands the importance of health and safety within the activities of the division. Furthermore, it recognises and acknowledges that all employees have a vital role to play in the management and implementation of health and safety at work. Therefore, the responsibility for achieving and adhering to acceptable safety standards rests not only with the employer, but also with employees, subcontractors and suppliers of materials to be used at work.

Policies

Analysys Mason’s policy is to prevent accidents, insofar as is reasonably practicable, adopt a health and safety strategy that includes the provision of safe working systems and appropriate procedures to cater for all significant risks and maintain the health and safety of all personnel, and others.

Training

All new employees are made aware of Analysys Mason’s health and safety policy. All employees are made aware of Analysys Mason’s arrangements and procedures for health and safety and their duties and responsibilities to work safely as a condition of employment. Adequate training, supervision and support is provided to staff as an essential part of safety management.
