Logicalis social investment report
Logicalis’ operating companies are committed to improving the quality of life for the local communities that they operate in, with the most common area of focus being the support and education of disadvantaged people in the communities where it is located. Below are some examples of the many initiatives that have been undertaken this year:
Logicalis Asia
The Logicalis Asia team raised funds for and donated to charitable causes during FY21, achieved through various initiatives.
Covid-19 significantly impacted economies across the world in 2020, and Hong Kong was no exception. In July 2020, volunteers from Logicalis Hong Kong partnered with a local social enterprise restaurant and catering chain operated largely by seniors who seek to re-enter the labour market after their retirement. Together, they put together and donated 374 lunch boxes to elderly, homeless and impoverished members of the community, through monies raised by the organisation and staff.
In Indonesia, Logicalis Indonesia employees voluntarily donated to the KOMPAS Foundation, supporting their efforts to tackle the challenges of Covid-19 in Indonesia.
The Logicalis Singapore team hosted “Run for a Cause”, mobilising employees to complete 5km in support of the Singapore Breast Cancer Foundation. Participants volunteered their time and posted about their journey, inspiring each other to walk to and from the office, run during their free time, or overcome their psychological resistance to complete their goal.
Logicalis Australia
When bushfires ravaged parts of Australia in 2020, Logicalis Australia partnered with Dell technologies to assist “FoodBank NSW”, supporting families and communities that were affected. The organisation also hosted a morning tea with either cakes baked or purchased to raise funds for the Red Cross.
Seven Logicalis Australia employees participated in “Around the Bay” – a 210km cycling event that raised funds for The Smith Family, who help disadvantaged children receive an education. Logicalis Australia also took part in the Fight Cancer Foundation’s “Footy Colours Day”, a day event where employees were encouraged to wear their team’s colours. Funds raised went towards assisting children who were receiving treatment for cancer. They also held an afternoon tea with a handball competition in the office to raise funds for Fight Cancer Foundation.
By partnering with PonyUp, Logicalis Australia has continued to dispose of old, unused technology into charitable currency and in turn, reduce the level of waste into landfill. PonyUp donates 50% of profits to SecondBite – Australia’s largest fresh food rescue charity, which redistributes fresh surplus food donated by farmers, wholesalers, markets, supermarkets and caterers to more than 1 300 community food programmes. The contribution made by Logicalis Australia helped generate almost 11 000 meals to SecondBite.
Every winter, Logicalis Australia supports St Vincent De Paul’s CEO Sleepout initiative. This one-night event promotes awareness of homelessness in Australia and raises much needed funds to support Australia’s homeless population. Funds raised by employees were matched dollar for dollar by Logicalis Australia.
Logicalis Australia supported Anglicare Victoria’s (“AV”) annual Toy and Food Appeal. This appeal ensures that children in their care receive brand new toys for Christmas, a time that is the most challenging for those who rely on organisations such as AV.
